Griffiths-Scott School Sports

We are up and running with three weeks in already. School has been exciting for the first few weeks because of the new school. The excitement continues as the nets rise for volleyball season and the tracks are set for the cross country run as the season approaches.

This year for volleyball there will be two girls teams, (junior and senior). The coach for the junior girls’ team is Kevin Doyle. The coach for the senior girls team is Kory Christie. They both work really hard to make sure the girls are ready to get on the ground and fight for what they deserve. The girls are getting very skilled at playing the game; they are already ready for their first tournament in Ponoka on Saturday. I am sure these junior girls are ready to fight for the win and bring home the gold. The coach for the boys volleyball team is Charlene Saunders. There is only one boys team and it is a senior team. As the season continues I will be keeping you up to date on the wins and losses of the Griffins.

The first run for cross country is September 19, 2012 and the closer it gets to that date the harder the people who are running in cross country train for the race. The second run will be on September 25, 2012. I am sure one of us Griffins will win or even come in the top ten. We have some really competitive runners in all the grades. I am not running myself but I will be there to watch our Griffins run to bring you the news on what happened and who won. I at least hope to see one person walk through the Griffiths- Scott School doors a winner!
I can’t wait to see the outcome of these sports. I hope we will take home all golds but it doesn’t matter if we don’t as long as we try our best. So let’s all get geared up and get ready to fight for the win and have a great time doing it. We are all rooting for you Griffins so all we can say is, “Let’s go Griffins, let’s go”!
