Wetaskiwin Health Foundation Travels to the Bank

Donna Andres shares travel information with Air Canada rep

For the 20th year, Universal Travel hosted the annual Winter Product Launch to a full house at the Memorial Centre on October 3rd, 2012. The event featured presentations by travel reps from major travel companies highlighting up-to-date information about travel opportunities and what is new and exciting. Ms. Jasmin Parmar, M.C. for the evening, had a challenging task of monitoring each of the six travel reps presentations and limiting them to the 20 minutes each was allotted. The professional travel reps tempted the crowd with a multitude of tempting winter destinations. In attendance were travel experts from Signature Vacations & Sunwing Vacations, Westjet Vacations, Air Canada Vacations, Universal Travel, Globus & Transat Holidays and Nolitours.  Sandy beaches, 5 star hotels, excellent food, cultural experiences, 330 days of sunshine were all tempting images that were featured in travel books at each of the displays.  PowerPoint presentations described tempting trips to destinations like Cuba, Mexico, Jamaica, South America, new hotels and river cruises through Europe.

Wetaskiwin Health Foundation travels to the bank from the Launch
Once again, members of the Wetaskiwin Health Foundation were present but not for travel advice. They were happy to staff a display announcing the upcoming Barn Dance Social to be held on October 20th and sell raffle tickets supporting the Surgical Program Enhancement Campaign (with a goal of $120,000). Guests buying raffle tickets were eligible for prizes throughout the evening with the grand prize being a trip for two to any destination in Canada donated by Westjet.

Jasmin Parmar announced $700 was raised for this worthwhile cause. She explained that Universal Travel is, “Once again honored to partner with the Wetaskiwin Health Foundation”. The Owner of Universal Travel supported the acknowledgement with a personal donation of $300 bringing the grand total to $1000 to invest in the Wetaskiwin Hospital Surgical Program.

Judging from the size and enthusiasm of the crowd, thoughts about travel to warm and interesting destinations are already on peoples’ minds. The Wetaskiwin Health Foundation is grateful for the interest in this event and to the participants who provided $1000.00 of generous support for healthcare.
