A Man of Many Hats

If you check in the dictionary beside the word "busy" you might see a photograph of the Pipestone Flyer's very own Barry McDonald.
Known to our readers as a talented photographer as well as a learned and meticulous writer who values truth and accuracy in his articles, there are many sides to Barry that might not be quite as well known.
Recognized for his expertise as a trainer and practitioner of marketing, research & development, and fundraising, Barry has assisted groups such as the Ponoka Ag Event Centre Society in securing millions of dollars of funding in order to expand and improve their facilities.
An Alberta boy tried and true that began life on a farm, he has travelled the world but always comes back to his home in Wetaskiwin. Stemming from the connection he holds to his community, Barry has been giving back and making this area a stronger and better place to live for many years. In addition to running his own consulting business he has given of his time and knowledge to local organizations such as Growing Alberta, the Wetaskiwin Health Foundation, the 4H Foundation of Alberta, and he currently holds the position of VP for Wetaskiwin Victims Services.
Right in line with the Pipestone Flyer's motto of "Keeping It Local" Barry embodies the spirit of what it means to leave your community better than you found it. And thankfully, Barry has no intention of leaving "his" town any time soon!
