Great Canadian Dollar Store Now Open

Leduc Entrepreneur Nadine Leming opens in time for Christmas

 By Joanne Hagen

Shoppers were already gathered outside Leduc's new Great Canadian Dollar Store as it officially opened its doors at 9:00 a.m., Saturday, December 4.  New owners, Nadine and Tom Leming, greeted customers and friends as they arrived, among them Mayor Greg Krischke and Alderman Dana Smith.
The Grand Opening Celebration began with a few words from Mayor Krischke before the ceremonial cutting of the ribbon.
"We live in a great, fast growing community," said the Mayor, going on to say that  when people invest their time and labor to become part of the Leduc business community, it inevitably makes the city stronger.
"We are glad you decided to open a business here," said Krischke, "and we wish you many years of success."
With that, the Mayor took scissors in hand and snipped the ribbon to a healthy round of applause.
With over one hundred retail outlets across Canada, the Great Canadian Dollar Store is a favourite shop stop.  Housing a large and diverse selection of merchandise, the store is stocked with hardware, stationary, linens, pet supplies, kitchenware, toys, makeup, Christmas necessities, and much more.  The Great Canadian Dollar Store has an exceptional selection of party and craft supplies, including helium balloons (must be pre-ordered).
"We are excited," said Nadine, "We invite everyone to come in and check out the store."
Located at 4302-50 St. in Leduc, store hours are 8:30 a.m. to 9:00 p.m. Monday to Friday, 9:00 to 6:00 on Saturdays, and noon to 5:00 on Sundays.  For more information, call the Great Canadian Dollar Store at 780-980-0406.
