PURSCHKE, Jane Margaret

It is with sadness that the family of Jane Purschke announces her sudden passing on Tuesday, January 28, 2014. She will be greatly missed by her son, Randy (Mary-Ellen); daughter, Jacquie (Rob). She will be lovingly remembered by her four granddaughters, Amy, Allie, Emily and Hannah, who brought so much joy and happiness to her life. She also leaves her two dear brothers, Jack of Calgary and David of Chilliwack; Allie`s fiancee, Kyle; as well as the large extended Maclagan family of nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her brother Dean.
Jane was born in Lethbridge, Alberta on January 3, 1931 to her parents, Lyle & Dora Maclagan. After a childhood in Coutts and Calgary, with her brothers, Dean, Jack and Dave, Jane moved to Edmonton as a teenager. There she started her career and raised two children, surrounded by her family.
In 1976, Jane fulfilled a life-long dream and moved to the country near Millet. There she gardened, began a catering business, worked at the local paper and became a fond member of the community. She was a key fixture at the Wetaskiwin arena for many years, ensuring children and adults alike were well fed and `kept in line.` Her `Jane` burgers were appreciated by many.
In her retirement, Jane moved to Jacquie`s farm where she happily contributed to the garden, the cooking and ensuring that all the animals were thoroughly spoiled. She spent many happy times and had lots of good laughs in the midst of good friends and family at the farm.
A celebration of life took place February 1, 2014 in the basement of the Memorial Arts Centre (Scarlet & Gold Room).

Memorial donations gratefully accepted to the Wetaskiwin Animal Shelter 4735 39 Avenue - Wetaskiwin, Alberta T9A 2J4.
