As budgets decline and need for healthcare services increases, there is a growing reliance on the Wetaskiwin Health Foundation (WHF) to make up the short-fall. Unfortunately, every member in the Charity Sector is finding that maintaining societal expectations will depend on new resources – if we want programs and services in our community that exceed government funding then the community has to step forward. The Wetaskiwin Lions Club took that step.
On February 18th, representatives from the Wetaskiwin Lions Club came to the Wetaskiwin Hospital and presented the Wetaskiwin Health Foundation with a cheque for $1000. Branin McLeod, a board member of the Foundation expressed her gratitude for the donation and stated that, “every dollar donated to the Foundation helps us provide augmented healthcare services in Wetaskiwin”.
