Dear Editor

I am writing with concern about the killing of coyotes in Millet. I have lived in Millet in the trailer court for 14 years, and have only once seen a coyote and it was by itself, and it was 3 am. I can hear the coyotes every night, and common sense tells me not to go anywhere near the fields. Coyotes only come out after dark and don't bother anyone as long as you don't bother them. Killing them is not the answer, giving our community proper information about coyotes is the proper answer. For the people who were walking with their dogs, maybe they should switch their routine and walk earlier in the evening. This really bothers the heck out of me that the town of Millet is going to kill the coyotes when they truly have not done anything to hurt anyone. Killing them is truly not the answer.
P.S. It is very rare to see a group of coyotes together. That is usually wolves. Coyotes are usually by themselves or with their mate.
