The Mulhurst Bay Farmers market, located in Mulhurst Bay on the north shore of Pigeon Lake, has grown and moved into a larger space, the Mulhurst Bay Community Hall.

“Growth is not the worst problem to have” says Laurie Andrusiak, administrator of the market. “We really are looking forward to expanding the market for our locals and our summer visitors”.

Sponsored by the Mulhurst Bay Community League, the market is entering its third season.

With a new manager at the helm and a larger space, the goal for the market set out by the market’s planning committee is increasing the amount and variety of vendors, offering a concession/hot food option and more space for shoppers.

With the benefits of farmers markets being so numerous for small communities like Mulhurst Bay, such as creating a community gathering place, offering locals a business opportunity in their own community, and increasing access for residents to local, fresh, and in-season foods, it is no wonder why the market creates such a buzz by the lake.

Mulhurst Bay Farmers market runs Thursdays 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. from May 18 August 31, 2017.
