Ingredients
1 cup milk
1 1/4 cup fine dry bread crumbs
2 eggs fork beaten
1 1/4 cup chopped onions
1 1/2 tsp salt
1/4 tsp pepper
1/8 tsp allspice
1 1/2 lbs lean ground beef
1/2 lb lean ground pork
Sauce
1/4 cup all purpose flour
1/2 tsp salt
10 ounces condensed beef broth
1 cup water.
Instructions
Mix first 7 ingredients in bowl. Stir well.
Add ground beef and ground pork. Shape into 1 1/2 inch balls. Arrange on broiler tray. Brown quickly under broiler, turner once. Pile meatballs into 5 quart slow cooker.
Sauce:
Measure flour and salt in saucepan. Whisk in consommé or broth and water gradually until no lumps remain. Heat until it boils and thickens a bit. Pour over meatballs.Cover on low for 8 to 10 hours or on high for 4 to 5 hours. Makes 57 meatballs.
