Clam chowder


1 can clams

1/2 cup finely chopped onions

1/2 cup finely chopped celery

2 cups diced potatoes

1/8 cup butter

1/8 cup flour

1 cup half and half cream

1 cup milk

1/4 tsp sugar

1/4 tsp vinegar

1/4 tsp salt.


Drain juice from clams and pour it over diced potatoes. Add enough water to cover. Add sugar, salt and vinegar. Cook until potatoes are tender.

Sauté onions and celery in butter. Add flour and cook a few seconds more. Add cream and milk. Mix well and add to cooked potatoes. Mix well and serve with crumbled crisp bacon on top. Looks great and tastes delicious.
