On Monday July 30, 2012 a 3inch main natural gas line in the Suntree subdivision of Leduc was accidently punctured by construction workers. This caused an evacuation of residents of a few homes in the Sunrose Lane and Selkirk Place sections of Suntree.

The break occurred near the corner of Sunrose Lane and Schubert Street during the morning and took approximately three hours to be repaired and spot checks could be completed before residents could safely return to their homes. Leduc’s Fire Chief Polsom was able to confirm that it was a main line break and fortunately no fire resulted from the accident.
