Leduc Fire Services Cpt. Spencer Michelson was awarded for his years of service to Alberta June 9.
Fire Chief Ernie Polsom and Deputy Mayor Glen Finstand presented Michelson with the Alberta Emergency Services Medal for 12 years of service in the province during the City’s regular council meeting.
“Twelve years is an impressive milestone for anyone’s career because a lot of firefighters don’t make it that long,” said Polsom.
Polsom said Michelson is a diligent, loyal professional who spends a great deal of his time studying and updating his training so he can pass that on to the firefighters under his command, thereby continually improving fire services in Leduc.
“The medal is a method to recognize and thank them for their service to the province and the community,” said Polsom.
