Every summer the Lakedale and Area Community Library Society is involved in a reading program for the children at the Pigeon Lake Public Library in Ma-Me-O Beach Alberta. Royal Canadian Legion Branch No. 252 offered to fund the reading program after hearing that previous funding was no longer available.
Speaking about the Legion's involvement in the reading program, Branch President Dave Noack said, "We are a small, hard working group that believes community involvement is a cornerstone of our branch and we see this as a great program for the community."
