Mulhurst resident Jack Manson received the Alberta Historical Resources Foundation Heritage Award 2012 for Outstanding Achievement. He is the author of two Alberta historical books: Bricks in Alberta, a chronical of the origins and manufacture of bricks around the province; and Mulhurst, The first 50 Years, detailing the history of the area at Pigeon Lake. Jack was also a long-time volunteer with the Reynolds Alberta Museum.
