Ted Okkerse is presenting a cheque to Major Terry Cook, the commanding officer at the Wetaskiwin Salvation Army Corps. Ted Okkerse is the “chief cook and bottle washer,” otherwise known as the supreme editor, publisher and owner of the Pipestone Flyer. When contemplating the annual company Christmas party, the staff of the paper decided to forgo their traditional gift exchange in favour of giving to the food bank. The small staff donated $160 dollars, which Okkerse is here seen presenting to Major Cook. The Wetaskiwin and Area Food Bank is part of the services offered by the Wetaskiwin Salvation Army Corps.
