Maskwacis Bear Park in Hobbema was packed with activities on July 6th – 8th, 2012. It was the annual Pow Wow where the aboriginal community gathers together for a family outing. It was also a grand celebration of aboriginal culture and traditions. Featured daily, were dance competitions with prize money of up to $1000 for different categories. Winners of the drum competition took home $7,000 while the 5th place group won $1,000. Tents and Tee Pees completely filled the grounds surrounding the performance grandstand with performers, vendors and spectators.
