If you are in need of a good laugh

I have been in need of a really good laugh lately. COVID for me, like many others, has been more mentally challenging than physically.

However, this week I got the levity I desperately needed and laughed for a ridiculously long time. Why? Because Borat 2: Subsequent Movie Film came out. I know, I know, some might say, ‘how can you be a feminist and like those kinds of movies?’

I don’t know the answer to that, but what I do know is the ridiculous antics of Sacha Baron Cohen as Borat making a mockery of basically everything is so outlandish and absurd that I am in stitches watching him on screen.

I suppose it is by the same taste in stupid-funny films that I adore Monty-Python films and their silly ludicrous actions. The point I suppose I’m trying to make is that right now more than ever, I think it is important to find something to make you laugh.

Watching Cohen dance across my screen as the fake Kazakhstan journalist Borat took away my stress and worries for that short amount of time. I’m going to start making it a priority to try to find humour around me more, to lift my spirits and get me through this pandemic and I encourage more people to do the same.

Also, if you like political and social satire wrapped up in one definitely offensive mockumentary – Borat 2: Subsequent Movie Film is the flick for you.
