Steps to make the Sylvan Lake Regional Health Foundation a reality will continue in 2025.

The Town of Sylvan Lake, Bentley, the Five Summer Villages at Sylvan Lake, Red Deer County and Lacombe County have all agreed to be part of the Sylvan Lake Regional Health Foundation.

"The community involvement of both local and regional partners will ensure ongoing support and enhancement of the AACS," Sylvan Lake and Area Urgent Care Committee Chair Susan Samson said.

Currently, the UCC has paused its action steps in creating the new Health Foundation until the role of the Health Foundation is better understood under the refocused health system.

"We hope to move forward again later this year. In the meantime, it will be business as usual under the existing Urgent Care Committee," Samson said.

People interested in finding out more about the UCC, donating, or volunteering at any of the UCC's events can contact Samson at susansamson56@gmail.com.

Individuals can also follow the Facebook page, Sylvan Lake and Area Urgent Care, or send a letter to the UCC at Box 8985, Sylvan Lake, AB, T4S 1S6.
