Grandma’s Goodies

Streusel Coffee Cake

21/2 cups all- purpose flour

3/4 Cup granulated sugar

1 cup of packed brown sugar

1 tsp. Nutmeg

1/2 tsp. Salt

3/4 cup cooking oil

11/4 cup of buttermilk

1 large egg beaten.

1 tsp baking Soda

1 tsp water

1/2 cup chopped walnuts or pecans

2 tsp cinnamon

1/2 cup reserved dry ingredients

Mix first 6 ingredients in large bowl. Measure 1/2 cup of mixture and set aside in small bowl. Add buttermilk and egg to flour mixture in large bowl. Stir.

Dissolve baking soda in water in small cup. Add to mixture in large bowl. Stir. Spread into 9×9 greased pan. Add nuts and cinnamon to reserved dry ingredients in small bowl. Sprinkle over top of cake. Bake in 325 degree oven for 45 to 50 minutes. Makes one coffee cake.
