Arrests made for break and enter at Brazeau County gas plant

Edson RCMP received a break and enter in progress at a local gas plant in Brazeau County, Alta., on March 22, 2022. Surveillance showed that three males entered the plant and were damaging it by breaking light towers and cutting hydraulic power cables.

Damage to the site was estimated to be more than $5,000.

Edson RCMP attended the scene and located a suspicious vehicle close to the gas plant containing the three males.

They were arrested and RCMP obtained a search warrant for the vehicle, recovering various items including copper wire from the truck.

Christopher Dobransky, 44, and Vernon Taylor, 46, both of Drayton Valley, Alta., and Terry Wagar, 68, of Buck Lake, Alta., have been charged with:

• Break and Enter;

• Mischief causing damage to property over $5,000.

All three males were released on conditions and will be appearing in Edson Provincial Court on May 17, 2022.
