August 19, Wetaskiwin A&W sells burgers to beat MS

$2 from every teen burger sold will be donated to the MS Society.

August 19, 2021, until the end of day, Wetaskiwin A&W in coordination with A&W restaurants across Canada is donating $2 from every teen burger purchased to the MS Society. This fundraiser is part of A&W’s annual Burgers to Beat MS initiative.

Manager Colleen Kruger says that this is the restaurant franchise’s 13th year doing the fundraiser, and that she hopes the Wetaskiwin location can fundraise $5,000 for the cause this year.

In addition to the $2 from every teen burger, there is a silent auction, 50/50 and bake sale at Wetaskiwin A&W until 7 p.m. tonight. No purchase is necessary to enter the silent auction.

The donation from burger sales will go until closing today. Kruger says that it has been very busy today, especially with online orders.

“We’ve had many big deliveries on the mobile app,” says Kruger. “So it’s been very successful.”

Kruger says at lunch time the drive-thru was backed up all the way to the street.

This fundraiser happens annually on the third Thursday of August.
