UPDATE: Chief of the Mulhurst and District Fire Department, Butch Russell, says that the brush fire was put out shortly after the department’s quick arrival to the scene.

“It pretty much burned itself out by the time we got there,” says Russell. The Fire Department mainly had to put out hotspots, “we got there fast enough.”

Russell also adds that the Department had a good turnout of members to the scene, all of whom were department members over the age of 60. “All the grey hairs,” Russell jokes.

The brush fire was completely put out shortly after the arrival of the Mulhurst Fire Department.
