Update: The Wetaskiwin RCMP have secured the residence and there is no risk to the public; RCMP will remain on scene as they continue with their investigation.
Original Story: Wetaskiwin RCMP is currently on scene at a Wetaskiwin residence on 47A Avenue to execute a search warrant. The area has been contained by the RCMP and public safety is being managed.
Given the nature of the search warrant the adjacent school, École Queen Elizabeth School, has been made aware of the police operation and may be entering a ‘hold and secure’.
