Breton man facing numerous charges after arrest by Central Alberta RCMP Crime Reduction Unit

The Central Alberta District Crime Reduction Unit (CAD CRU) was working in the Breton/Thorsby area on Jan. 19, 2022 on an unrelated investigation when investigators identified a stolen pick up truck.

The pickup truck was identified as one that had been stolen from a Warburg, Alta., business January 18. The stolen truck was travelling in the Buck Lake area on Highway 22 when officers noticed it.

Road conditions were extremely poor, however, the suspect vehicle was monitored with the assistance of the RCMP helicopter until it stopped at a business in Breton, Alta.

Officers identified the driver as Logan Davis, 26, of Breton. Davis was arrested without incident by members of the CAD CRU with assistance from the Thorsby/Breton RCMP.

As a result of the investigation Davis has been charged with:

• Possession of stolen property over $5,000;

• Dangerous driving;

• Possession of weapon dangerous to the public;

• Unauthorized possession of ammunition;

• Breach of release order (x5);

• And breach of probation (x1).

In addition to the new charges Davis was arrested on three outstanding warrants.

Davis was remanded into custody following a judicial hearing and will be appearing in Breton Provincial Court on Jan. 26, 2022.
