Bridge repairs for Highway 616 and Highway 2 overpass to start February 23

Bridge repairs on the overpass are scheduled from Feb. 23 to April 15, 2021.

Bridge repairs on the overpass at Highway 616 and Highway 2 west of Millet are set to begin Feb. 23, 2021.

Alberta Transportation will be doing bridge repairs on the southeast corner of the overpass from Feb. 23 to April 15, 2021. The bridge requires repairs following an truck accident that left damages.

Traffic control will consist of a single lane closure and speed reduction to 50 km/h on Highway 616 over the bridge. The eastbound lane will be closed and the westbound lane will be used to accommodate one lane of alternating traffic that will be controlled by portable electronic lights.

As part of the repairs there will be a temporary single lane closure and speed reduction to 80 km/h on Highway 2 Northbound in the outside lane. This closure is below the bridge and will be on Feb. 24, 2021 between 9 a.m. and 3 p.m.
