The City of Wetaskiwin will be full of a variety of family friendly activities this Canada Day. Starting in the morning the Wetaskiwin Lions Club is hosting a Pancake Breakfast at the Wetaskiwin Royal Canadian Legion Branch #86.

After breakfast wander over to main street and find a spot to enjoy the Canada Day parade, back for the first time since the start of the pandemic. The parade is set to take place between 11 a.m. and 12 p.m.

Make sure you pack your re-usable shopping bags for the day because a Canada Day Market will be open on 51 Ave and 51 Street. From there you might be able to hear the notes of live music which will be played throughout the city and take you back to the Wetaskiwin Family and Community Support Services Carnival.

At the Manluk Theatre for the Performing Arts local talents will be providing entertainment throughout the day and families can find plenty of fun and games (and free cake!) at the Wetaskiwin Heritage Museum.

If you take a drive down Highway 13 to the Reynolds Alberta Museum you will also be able to attend the Legacy Run 215 + Convoy with Indigenous dancing, singing, food and more mark the anniversary of last year’s Every Child Matters gathering.

To end the day take the family down to the Edmonton International Raceway for a Canada Day firework show.
