City and County of Wetaskiwin reporting active cases

Both the City of Wetaskiwin and County of Wetaskiwin have active cases.

The Government of Alberta confirmed 323 new cases of COVID-19 Tuesday. Of the province’s active cases, 145 are in Central Alberta.

As of Oct.19, 2020, The County of Wetaskiwin is reporting one active case of COVID-19 and the City of Wetaskiwin is reporting two active cases.

Maskwacis Health Services is reporting 30 active cases in Maskwacis, including one hospitalization and the death of a man in his 20s. His death is the central zone’s eighth virus death and marks the second person in their 20s in the province to die with the virus.

Due to an increase in cases and testing demands, AHS is pausing asymptomatic testing for those with no known exposure although previously booked appointments will be honoured until Nov. 4, 2020.
