The City of Wetaskiwin has rescheduled Wetaskiwin’s budget presentations and council deliberations to allow city employees additional time to familiarize themselves with the proposed budget due to the passing of a staff member.
The new schedule for the 2022 municipal budget is:
• Monday Feb. 28, 2022, at 11 a.m.: Budget presentations and council deliberations will follow the regular city council meeting taking place at Wetaskiwin City Hall.
• Wednesday March 2, 2022, at 9 a.m.: Budget presentations and council deliberations at Wetaskiwin City Hall.
• Monday March 14, 2022, at 1 p.m.: Anticipated approval of the 2022 municipal budget as part of the regular March 14, 2022, city council meeting.
The city encourages those wishing to attend budget deliberations to do so virtually as there is a limited in-person capacity in council chambers at Wetaskiwin City Hall.
The city says that feedback received from residents through the virtual budget open houses and virtual budgeting tool will be shared with council for consideration when deliberating the 2022 budget and that anyone with budget-related questions can continue sharing them with members of Wetaskiwin City Council.
