County of Wetaskiwin active COVID-19 cases nearly doubled over weekend

Active COVID-19 cases continue to climb in the City and County of Wetaskiwin. Following the weekend, updated COVID-19 numbers posted by the Government of Alberta show that the County of Wetaskiwin now has 94 active cases, nearly double the cases that were reported before the weekend.

Active COVID-19 cases continue to climb in the City and County of Wetaskiwin. Following the weekend, updated COVID-19 numbers posted by the Government of Alberta show that the County of Wetaskiwin now has 94 active cases, nearly double the cases that were reported before the weekend.

The City of Wetaskiwin has gone up by nearly 100 new cases, for a recent total of 243 active cases in the city.

Acute and continuing care facilities in Alberta are publicly reported to have an outbreak when there are two or more cases indicating that a transmission within the facility has occurred.

The following Wetaskiwin locations have outbreaks according to data by the provincial government:

• Community Health Centre;

• Optimal Living-Sagebrush;

• Peace Hills Lodge.
