County of Wetaskiwin fire restriction reduced to advisory

Restrictions ease further after recent rain

As of 9 a.m. on May 22, the fire advisory for the County of Wetaskiwin was reduced to a fire advisory. 

The following are allowed under the current advisory:

Safe wood campfires within fire rings
- Backyard fire pits and burn barrels on private land
- BBQs and Smokers that use solid fuels (wood chips or pellets, charcoal briquettes, etc.)
- Propane, Natural Gas, or Electrically powered cooking, heating, and lighting appliances
- Open flame oil devices (turkey deep fryers, tiki torches)
- Indoor wood fires contained within a device with a chimney and spark arrestor
- Pellet fuelled appliances
- Fireworks
- Open burning (with a fire permit)
