The County of Wetaskiwin is now accepting applications for the 2021 Dust Control Program.

Following a council resolution made at the March 23, 2021 County Council meeting, in a cost saving effort council has eliminated the 1/3 subsidy for dust control applications. This has resulted in a rate per metre increase to $6.50 per metre.

All applications for dust control must be submitted and paid to the County of Wetaskiwin Administration office no later than June 1, 2021. The County says that late applications may not be considered.

Dust control services will only be offered from June 1 to September 1.

Application forms for dust control are available at the Falun Co-op, Buck Lake Hardware, Seely’s General in Alder Flats, and on the County website. The Dust Control Program will only commence once seasonal road bans have been lifted.

County residents are advised that the spreading of used oil on roads within the County of Wetaskiwin prior to testing and meeting Alberta Environment guidelines is not permitted.
