Couple from Beaumont charged with stealing groceries in Millet

Two employees injured attempting to stop suspects

Two suspects have been charged after a robbery at a grocery store in Millet on Dec. 30. 

At about 1:20 p.m., Wetaskiwin RCMP was alerted to the theft. The suspects allegedly stole groceries and fled the store, making it to their vehicle.
 
After being confronted by two store employees, the suspects sped off from the location.

One employee on the hood of the vehicle was then thrown off. The other employee was dragged a short distance from the driver side door. Both sustained minor injuries.
 
Following an investigation by Wetaskiwin RCMP General Investigation Section, two people have been charged.
 
Petre Puiu, a 27 year-old resident of Beaumont, has been charged with robbery, dangerous operation of a motor vehicle, and operating a vehicle without a licence. 

Andreea Mustata, a 23 year-old resident of Beaumont, has been charged with theft under $5,000.

Puiu was released from custody with conditions and is scheduled to appear in court on Feb. 11, in the Wetaskiwin Provincial Court of Justice.
 
An arrest warrant has been issued for Mustata.
