In consideration of upcoming cold temperatures and to ensure the safety and enjoyment of all parade participants, the Leduc Santa Claus Parade organizers have changed the date of the parade to Sunday Dec. 8, 2024 at 6 p.m.

Police ask all attendees and motorists passing through to keep safety in mind.

The parade through the City of Leduc with officers onsite to ensure the safe movement of parade participants and spectators.

The parade route starts westbound on 50 Ave. at 47 St. heading northbound on 50 St. followed by an eastbound turn onto 54 Ave. The parade will end at 54 Ave. and 47 St. Motorists should note that roads along the parade route will be closed with some road closures starting at 4:45 p.m. onward.

The Leduc RCMP is reminding everyone of the following parade safety tips:

For parade spectators:

  • Enjoy the parade from the safety of the sidewalk. Keep children from stepping off the sidewalk and running into the street.
  • Respect the businesses and the city along the parade route. Clean up after yourself and take any trash you have with you.
  • Dress warmly and for the weather. Wear reflective, bright or light-coloured clothes to enhance visibility.
  • Lock your vehicle doors and remove any valuables.
  • Discuss safety with adolescents and children before the parade. Families should designate an area to meet in case they get separated during the parade.
  • Know places along the parade route where it is safe to go for help. There will be a lost child location inside the Light House Co-work on 50th Avenue.

For motorists:

  • Be aware of the increased traffic and road closures in the area before, during and after the parade.
  • Plan ahead and leave a few minutes early if you need to travel in the vicinity of the parade.
