A slew of drug-related charges have been laid against three Drayton Valley residents following two search warrants.
The Alberta RCMP's Community Response Team (CRT) and Drayton Valley General Investigations Section (GIS), with the assistance of the Drayton Valley RCMP, have been proactively targeting drug trafficking in Drayton Valley.
Following an investigation, RCMP arrested Tyler Mckerry, 36, and Ashley Berger, 32, in front of the Drayton Valley town office on June 3.
Officers then carried out a search warrant at a residence in Poplar Ridge Trailer Court, reportedly seizing 60 grams of methamphetamine, brass knuckles and $840 in cash.
McKerry was charged with possession with the purpose of trafficking, four counts of breaking a release order, possession of a weapon dangerous to the public, possession of a prohibited weapon and breaching a weapon prohibition order.
McKerry was held for a bail hearing and remanded into custody. He is to appear in the Alberta Court of Justice in Drayton Valley on June 17.
Berger was charged with possession for the purpose of trafficking and breaching probation.
Berger was taken before a Justice of the Peace and released with conditions and is to appear in the Alberta Court of Justice in Drayton Valley on July 15.
As a result of an ongoing drug trafficking investigation, the RCMP arrest Matthew McKay, 39, on June 5.
Police executed a search warrant on a residence and reportedly seized meth, fentanyl, brass knuckles and $985 in cash.
McKay was charged with trafficking, possession for the purpose of trafficking and possession of the proceeds of crime.
McKay was held for a bail hearing and was released with conditions. He is to appear in the Alberta Court of Justice in Drayton Valley on July 15.
The CRT also arrested a Stony Plain resident on June 6, after receiving a complaint of a stolen vehicle.
CRT and detachment officers responded and located the vehicle at the Esso in Alberta Beach, Alta.
Jasen Pappin, 46, was charged with possession of stolen property.
Pappin was held for a bail hearing and remanded into custody. He is to appear in the Alberta Court of Justice in Stony Plain on June 25.
