A Drayton Valley resident has been charged with dangerous driving causing bodily harm as well as aggravated assault after allegedly forcing another driver off the road on May 20.
At about 5:15 a.m. on May 20, 2025, Drayton Valley RCMP responded to a complaint of a two-vehicle collision on Highway 22 on the south side of Drayton Valley, according to a press release.
The vehicles had been travelling Eastbound when they collided and one rolled over into the Westbound ditch.
The driver of the vehicle in the ditch was extracted by Drayton Valley Fire Services and transported to the hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.
The RCMP's investigation concluded the collision was allegedly due to road rage, resulting in the arrest of the driver of the other vehicle. No other individuals were involved in the incident.
Kevin Holmes, 55, was charged in relation to the incident. He was brought before a justice of the peace and released on conditions. He is to appear before the Alberta Court of Justice in Drayton Valley on June 17, 2025.
"This is a good time to remind the public to be courteous on the road and always drive safely," said Sgt. Dan Ferri, Operations NCO for the Drayton Valley RCMP.
The highway was partially closed while RCMP collision analysts conducted their investigation.
