Leduc RCMP Drug Unit and partners make arrests in drug investigation

On March 24, 2022, the Leduc RMCMP Drug Unit with the assistance of Leduc’s General Investigation Section, Crime Reduction Unit, Wetaskiwin RCMP’s General Investigation Section and Crime Reduction Unit, Alberta Law Enforcement Response Team (ALERT), RCMP Police Dog Services, Edmonton Police Service (EPS) Tactical Unit, RCMP Police Dog Services and Air 1, concluded a three month Controlled Drugs and Substance Act (CDSA) trafficking investigation.

On March 24, 2022, the Leduc RMCMP Drug Unit with the assistance of Leduc’s General Investigation Section, Crime Reduction Unit, Wetaskiwin RCMP’s General Investigation Section and Crime Reduction Unit, Alberta Law Enforcement Response Team (ALERT), RCMP Police Dog Services, Edmonton Police Service (EPS) Tactical Unit, RCMP Police Dog Services and Air 1, concluded a three month Controlled Drugs and Substance Act (CDSA) trafficking investigation.

Two CDSA search warrants were executed at residences in the area of north Edmonton, Alta., and the Deer Valley area in Leduc, Alta.

In addition to the search warrants, two vehicles were searched with one being seized. Three males and one female were arrested.

“We will not tolerate the trafficking of drugs in our community and will continue to proactively investigate and charge those who do so,” says Sgt. Scott Lande, Acting Operations NCO.

“This is an example of the tireless work officers, who work in our detachment area and our partners do every day to keep our communities safe”.

The investigation led to the seizure of approximately six ounces of suspected cocaine and $7,235 in Canadian currency.

Kyle Dale Fox, 35, of Edmonton is charged with:

• Trafficking in a controlled substance- cocaine (x8);

• Possession for the purpose of trafficking- cocaine (x2);

• Proceeds of crime under $5,000 (x3);

• Proceeds of crime over $5,000;

• Driving while prohibited;

• Failure to comply with a release order (x5).

Darryl Jonathon Block, 45, of Leduc is charged with:

• Trafficking in a controlled substance- cocaine (x3);

• Proceeds of crime under $5,000 (x3);

• Proceeds of crime over $5,000;

• Possession of a controlled substance- cocaine;

• Failure to comply with a release order.

Following a judicial hearing Fox and Block were remanded into custody to appear in Leduc Provincial Court on March 31, 2022.

Crystal Marie Schueller, 42, of Edmontonis charged with:

• Trafficking in a controlled substance - cocaine (x4);

• Possession for the purpose of trafficking - cocaine (x2);

• Proceeds of crime under $5,000 (x2);

• Proceeds of crime over $5,000;

Following a judicial hearing Fox, Block, and Schueller were remanded into custody to appear in Leduc Provincial Court on March 31, 2022.

Ryan Terry Kenzie, 42, of no fixed address is charged with:

• Trafficking in a controlled substance – cocaine;

• Possession of a controlled substance – cocaine;

• Proceeds of crime under $5,000.

Kenzie was released from custody to appear in Leduc Provincial Court on April 28, 2022.
