Leduc RCMP execute search warrant following report of suspicious activity

As a result of the search two individuals were arrested and charged with various offences.

On Sept. 7, 2021, Leduc RCMP with the assistance of Leduc General Investigation Unit and Leduc Drug Unit executed a search warrant on a Leduc, Alta. residence. The search warrant on the residence, in the area of 55 Ave and 54 Street, was relating to a report of suspicious activity.

As a result of the search two individuals were arrested and charged with various offences.

The search resulted in the seizure of firearms, ammunition, replica firearms and two prohibited conducted energy weapons, as well as the recovery of three firearms determined to be stolen out of Forestberg, Alta.

“Investigations like this, certainly have made the community safer” says Inspector Jeff McBeth. “Any time the RCMP can take firearms away from those who should not have them, is a great day”.

Scott Alexander Clendon, 35, of Leduc is charged with:

• Possession of firearm with altered serial number x 2

• Possession of weapon obtained by crime x 3

• Unsafe storage of firearms x 3

• Possession of firearm contrary to order x 7

Stefan Weimer, 33, of Leduc is charged with:

• Possession of firearm with altered serial number x 2

• Possession of weapon obtained by crime x 3

• Unsafe storage of firearms x 3

• Possession of a prohibited weapon x 8

Following a Judicial Interim Release Hearing both Clendon and Weimer were released to appear in Leduc Provincial Court on Sept. 23, 2021.
