Leduc RCMP lay charges for child pornography

A Leduc resident is believed to have been in possession of child pornography and allegedly distributed it online

Anton Stepanko, a 37-year-old resident of Leduc, has been charged with child pornography-related offences following the execution of a search warrant at a residence in Leduc on Jan. 15. 

The Leduc RCMP General Investigation Section (GIS) were notified that a Leduc resident was believed to be in possession of child pornography and had allegedly distributed it online.

The search warrant was the result of a joint investigation between the Leduc GIS, the Leduc RCMP Crime Reduction Unit and Alberta RCMP Internet Child Exploitation unit. 

Stepanko has been charged with possession of child pornography, distribution of child pornography and accessing child pornography. 

Stepanko was taken before a Justice of the Peace and released with conditions. He is scheduled to appear at the Alberta Court of Justice in Leduc on Jan.23, 2025.
