Leduc RCMP make arrest for break and enter at a rural property

Leduc RCMP responded to a complaint of a break and enter in progress at approximately 7:50 a.m., on Feb. 16, 2023, at a rural property east of Leduc.

Leduc RCMP responded to a complaint of a break and enter in progress at approximately 7:50 a.m., on Feb. 16, 2023, at a rural property east of Leduc.

Officers responded to the area where they were advised an unknown vehicle and suspect was at the rural residence which was not occupied at that time. When searching the area they quickly located the lone suspect and placed him under arrest.

Following the arrest police searched the suspect’s vehicle and recovered property from the residence including firearms.

Kurt Emil Heitrich, 47, an Edmonton resident, was charged with:

• Break and enter;

• Possession of a weapon contrary to order;

• Unauthorized possession of a weapon;

• And operation while prohibited.

Following a judicial hearing Heitrich was remanded into custody and is scheduled to appear in Leduc provincial court on March 2, 2023.
