Leduc RCMP make arrests for drug trafficking and seize firearms

In August 2021 the Leduc RCMP Drug Unit entered into a Controlled Drugs and Substances Act (CDSA) investigation in the area of Leduc, Alta.

With assistance from Leduc RCMP Detachment members, Leduc RCMP Crime Reduction Unit, Leduc General Investigation Section, Central Alberta District Crime Reduction Unit and the Alberta Law Enforcement Response Team, the Leduc RCMP Drug Unit executed a search warrant at a residence in the Windrose area of Leduc.

A search of the residence and a vehicle resulted in the seizure of four firearms, approximately 70 grams of cocaine, a quantity of Canadian currency, several digital scales and drug packaging.

Kyle Dale Fox, 34, of Leduc, Alta., has been charged with 30 offences, some of which include:

• Trafficking in a controlled substance x 3 – cocaine;

• Possession for the purpose of trafficking – cocaine;

• Possession of weapon for a dangerous purpose x 4;

• Possession of firearm while unauthorized;

• Possession of proceeds of crime x 3.

Following a Judicial Hearing, Fox was remanded into custody and is scheduled to appear in Edmonton Federal Court on Oct. 18, 2021

Darryl Jonathon Block, 45, of Leduc, Alta. has been charged with possession for the purpose of trafficking cocaine.

Block was released on conditions to appear in Leduc Provincial Court on Nov. 25, 2021.
