Richard Wynn Healy

December 24, 2014

Rick passed away unexpectedly in his home on December 24, 2014 and is survived by Leslie and Pauline, his sons Ron (Mary), Mike (Kristine), Jame (Jessica), Jeremy and Ezekiel, his grandchildren Shannon, Michael, Israel and Gabe, his sister Marjorie, and many loving nephews, nieces and extended family, including his beloved goddaughter Heather, his “grand goddaughter” Savannah, the Khan family, and dozens of international students, foster children, his church family, Linda and so many other dear friends.

Rick was born in Duncan, BC on November 10, 1943, the last of four children, and second son to Richard and Josephine Healy and grew up most of his early life in “Camp 6”, now known as Caycuse Camp, on the northwestern shore of Lake Cowichan, on Vancouver Island.

Rick worked in the logging industry starting as a tree scaler as a teenager and ultimately becoming a tree faller from the relatively young age of 22. Rick worked in several areas around British Columbia, including the Nimkish Valley, Toba Inlet, Kelsey Bay and the areas around Cowichan Lake.

For the past 20 years and more Rick fulfilled his dream of living in a house on a picturesque lake, carving wildfowl, and following his Packers, Seahawks and Canucks, after having retired early due to a long-term bout with Crohn’s Disease and Colitis much of his life and on two occasions even cancer.

A memorial will be held in late Spring. For details, well wishes or memories, contact his family at RichardWHealy@GMail.com.

Dad, we miss you dearly, but know we will see you again soon.
