Two people who allegedly assaulted a women and stole her truck on Louis Bull First Nation on Sept. 8, 2024, have been released and will wait until next spring for their preliminary hearing.

Louis Bull residents Colin Tyson Bull, 24, has been charged with robbery, several firearms-related offences and possession of property obtained by crime over $5,000.

Shaunelle Tawny Marilyn Okeymow, 31, has been charged with one count of robbery.

On Sept. 8, Maskwacis RCMP received a report that a female victim had been assaulted and her 2023 Dodge truck stolen by two offenders. A later report alleged the same suspects, using the stolen truck, may have shot a firearm at another witness near the Bear Hills Truck Stop on Highway 2.

RCMP tracked the vehicle, using a police helicopter, and observed it pulling up to a residence on Louis Bull First Nation.

The RCMP Emergency Response Team was deployed and with the assistance of the Edmonton police tactical unit, all occupants exited the home and were taken into custody.

On Nov, 14, 2024, both accused were released on bail after a hearing at the Wetaskiwin Court of Justice. Okeymow had elected a judge-alone trial.

The preliminary hearing for both Okeymow and Bull has been set for June 9, 2025 in Wetaskiwin.
