Demolition of Manny’s officially started Oct. 22, 2020. Wetaskiwin City Council has provided the property owner 30 days to complete the demolition from when the utilities were disconnected.

General Manager of Community and Protective Services, Paul Edginton, says that the City hasn’t received the official disconnection date for the utilities at Manny’s. However, Edginton also states that assuming the utilities were disconnected the morning of Oct. 22, 2020 the property owner will have until the end of the day on Nov. 21, 2020 to have the demolition completed.

Manny’s has been vacant since the structure fire that occurred at the property Jan. 14, 2020. Following an investigation of the fire scene human remains were discovered at Manny’s and the fire investigator determined the cause of the fire to be suspicious.
