The Millet Fire Department responded to a structure fire at a feedlot on Nov. 6.

The Millet Fire Department responded to a large structure fire on Township road 480, just east of Highway 814 on Wednesday evening, Nov. 6.

The department was called out at 10: 30 p.m. to a feedlot in the county where a shed had caught fire.

Fire Chief Steven Moen said they had a "really good turnout" to the call, with 19 of their members showing up, as they'd just gotten home from practice that night when they received the call out.

The department responded with two pumpers, two tankers, a command truck and a rescue truck.

Firefighters contained the blaze to the shed.

"Luckily the wind was blowing the right direction that it didn't spread to a hay stack," said Moen.

The fire was extinguished by 1:45 a.m.

The shed and cattle feeding equipment inside were a total loss. There were no injuries, of either people or animals.

The cause of the fire is undetermined, said Moen.
