Mobile mammography service to visit Wetaskiwin

A mobile mammography service from Alberta Health Services (AHS) is coming to Wetaskiwin on July 23, 25, 26, 27, 28, 29 and 30. The mobile trailer will be stationed at the Wetaskiwin mall and will be screening women ages 50 to 74, the group most at risk of developing breast cancer.

This service is part of Alberta Health Services’ Screen Test program.

AHS states that a mammogram, which is an x-ray of the breast, has been proven to be the most effective way to detect breast cancer. Early detection of breast cancer allows for more treatment options and a better chance of survival.

Wetaskiwin residents can learn more about the program and book an appointment by calling toll-free 1-800-667-0604.
