The 17-year-old female passenger of the Toyota Corolla was pronounced deceased at the scene
A teenager is deceased after a collision on Highway 39 at Range Road 52 in Brazeau County on Nov. 28.
At about 1:55 p.m., Thorsby/Breton RCMP received a report of a serious collision involving a Toyota Corolla and a Freightliner commercial truck.
When members arrived, EMS and fire services were already at the scene.
The 17-year-old female passenger of the Toyota Corolla was pronounced deceased at the scene. The 16-year-old driver of the Toyota Corolla was taken to a local medical facility to be further assessed for injuries.
The 33-year-old male driver of the Freightliner commercial truck was assessed on scene by EMS.
The collision is still under investigation, however the initial investigation indicates the Toyota Corolla was heading westbound around a corner on Highway 39 and lost control when it collided with the Freightliner commercial truck that was headed eastbound.
"Alberta RCMP wish to extend our condolences to the loved ones of the deceased," stated the release.
