Special City Council meeting discusses potential curfew for City of Wetaskiwin

City of Wetaskiwin’s state of emergency has been renewed and no curfew will be implemented.

In the afternoon of April 7, 2020 City of Wetaskiwin Council convened virtually for a Special City Council meeting.

The Council voted in favour of renewing the City of Wetaskiwin’s state of emergency and after discussions decided against implementing a curfew for the City of Wetaskiwin during the pandemic.

Council also discussed amending noise bylaws to allow for essential businesses to operate with longer hours such as grocery retailers to ensure that they are following provincial social distancing mandates for customer volume.
