An Edmonton man has been arrested after a Wetaskiwin resident was struck during the theft of his truck.

Wetaskiwin RCMP responded to a report of a stolen vehicle from 55 St. and 41 Ave. on May 22, 2025.

The victim had started his vehicle and stepped out, at which point a male entered and stole the vehicle, striking the victim with it in the process.

A video of the incident was posted on social media.

In the video, a male can be seen approaching up the driveway pushing a bicycle that he then pushes aside before getting into the dark orange truck.

The suspect then backs up quickly, and when the owner runs out of the house to cut off the vehicle, it strikes the victim.

The vehicle pauses briefly and the end of the street before turning and driving away.

(Warning: The video may be disturbing to watch.)

The Wetaskiwin RCMP investigated the incident and identified a suspect.

On May 23, the RCMP arrested the suspect, reportedly in a different stolen vehicle, when they responded to a report of a suspicious vehicle in Leduc.

The vehicle stolen from Wetaskiwin was recovered by Parkland RCMP on May 26.
