Suspect waving a handgun in Wetaskiwin arrested

The RCMP advises there is no ongoing threat to public safety

On April. 16, at about 10:15 a.m., Wetaskiwin RCMP responded to a report of an individual brandishing a handgun outside the employee door of a local business in the area of 56 St. and 48 Ave. 

RCMP say they quickly located the person and made an arrest without incident. 

According to RCMP, a gas-powered revolver and knife were seized from the suspect.
 
The investigation is ongoing and charges are pending.
 
The RCMP advises there is no ongoing threat to public safety.
