The Wetaskiwin RCMP Crime Reduction Unit saw a vehicle being operated by an individual believed to be under a driving suspension on July 7.
A traffic stop was conducted; during that time officers performed a search under the Controlled Drugs and Substance Act, according to a release.
A large quantity of fentanyl, methamphetamine, and cocaine was located in the vehicle.
As a result of the investigation, RCMP has charged Leduc residents Daniel Golub, 29, and Shayleen Friedrick, 36, with:
- Possession for the purpose of trafficking cocaine
- Possession for the purpose of trafficking methamphetamine
- Possession for the purpose of trafficking fentanyl
Golub was additionally charged with possession of property obtained by crime less than $5,000
Golub and Friedrick were taken before a justice of the peace and released with their next court date set for Aug. 20 at the Alberta Court of Justice in Wetaskiwin.
